The above is an Excerpt from “The Picture of Dorian Gray” written by Oscar Wilde.
This Novel caused quite a stir in victorian England it was edited/censored/revised many times before and after being published.
Labelled in the 19th century as morally inappropriate, offensive, effeminate, and contaminating.
A book that did not go down well with the Victorian sensibilities —critics and readers alike.
